The Sandwich Police Department has completed their ruling in a dangerous dog hearing.
Upon review of evidence and testimony at last week’s public hearing, police found the Forestdale resident’s pitbull “Bubba” to be deemed as a “dangerous dog”.
The conclusion stems from an incident in which Bubba attacked another dog unprovoked, which resulted in a person being bit after trying to release the animals.
State law prohibits removal of the dog from the residence, however it must be humanely muzzled and securely leashed at all times whenever outside and off the owner’s property; it also states the dog must be securely confined indoors or outdoors in an enclosed and locked pen.
Bubba is also banned from being walked within the neighborhood and surrounding area.
