An accident in Falmouth early Saturday morning completely shut down a section of Palmer Avenue.
Falmouth Police responded to the crash happening at approximately 1 a.m. near Goodwill Park Road.
Rescuers arrived on scene and found a vehicle struck a utility pole; police on location promptly closed the area from the intersection of Palmer Ave and Jones Road, to the split at Route 28.
Eversource crews were dispatched to the location to replace the broken pole; motorists were unable to travel through the area until about noontime, when the road was opened to alternating traffic.
Palmer Avenue has since been reopened fully after Eversource and Verizon completed necessary repairs.
Falmouth Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
