Monday evening, the Harwich Police Department received a report of a shooting that occurred.
The victim told police he had agreed to meet the suspect to conduct a drug deal for marijuana.
The deal went wrong and turned violent, which resulted in the suspect shooting at the victim as he fled the scene in his vehicle.
At least two rounds struck the vehicle as he drove away; the victim was able to provide police with a vehicle registration and a description of the suspect, as well as a second person who was inside the vehicle.
Harwich Police located the suspect’s vehicle parked at a residence with two subjects sitting inside which matched the description provided by the victim.
Both subjects were placed under arrest and arraigned in Orleans District Court Tuesday morning.
David Gonsalves, of Harwich, was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon and Distributing a Class D Substance.
Haakim Johnson-Burrows, of Clarkston Georgia, was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building and Possession of a Class D Substance.
