A young child drowned early Saturday afternoon at a Falmouth campground.
The incident occurred at approximately 1 p.m. when rescuers were called to the Cape Cod Campresort and Cabins for an unresponsive child in a swimming pool.
First responders pulled the 4-year-old boy out of the pool and began CPR until fire and rescue were on scene.
Rescuers arrived at the campground, located on Thomas B. Landers road, and took the boy to Falmouth Hospital where he was later pronounced dead; the child’s grandmother was also taken to the hospital.
The incident is under investigation by Falmouth Police and Massachusetts State Police Detectives.
