Police were dispatched to a home in Yarmouth for a reported unconscious person Friday afternoon.
Yarmouth Police, Fire and Rescue were called to the residence at approximately 4:32 p.m. and found a 60-year-old who was barely alive.
Rescuers administered Narcan, which helped the victim regain consciousness; they were taken to Cape Cod Hospital for further treatment.
Upon an investigation, police found a hypodermic needle and a tie off fabric belt in the immediate area.
Another person told police he and the victim used heroin approximately 20 minutes prior to the incident.
This is the 65th suspected heroin/fentanyl related drug overdose in Yarmouth so far this year.
