Fentanyl Related Death in Yarmouth

Yarmouth Police responded to a residence Friday morning for an unresponsive man.

Officers arrived on scene at approximately 7:45 and found the subject passed out in his vehicle.

Yarmouth Fire and Rescue arrived and attempted life-saving procedures, but were unable to save the man.

It was determined the victim died sometime overnight from apparent heroin-fentanyl use; police say this is the 7th known heroin-fentanyl related death in Yarmouth so far this year.

Deputy Chief of Police Steven Xiarhos reminds the public the YPD hosts weekly ‘Learn to Cope’ opioid support group meetings for families dealing with addiction and recovery every Tuesday night at 7 o’clock; Narcan training and supplies are available to all at no cost at the end of the meeting.
