This past week the Yarmouth Police Department, with assistance from the Department of Natural Resources, cleared out several trespassers from town property and cleaned the wooded area located behind 228 Route 28 in West Yarmouth.
The trespassers had been living in the area and created environmental hazards and damage which included human waste, garbage, discarded heroin needles, and a variety of dirty and unsafe items.
All trespassers were identified and removed and will be arrested if they return; meanwhile, a team was brought in to properly clean the area and return it to its natural state.
The department will be conducting repeated patrols of the scene and citizens who observe trespassers are asked to call Yarmouth Police at 508-775-0445.
