The body of a diver, who went missing near Long Point in Provincetown on Wednesday, has been recovered.
On Friday, members of the Massachusetts State Police Underwater Recovery Team recovered the body of 80-year-old John Garzia, of Foxborough.
Garzia was reported missing Wednesday shortly after he began a dive off the coast of Provincetown; he was diving in about 35 feet of water and had about 30 minutes of oxygen left in his tank according to reports.
The crew aboard his dive boat contacted authorities when they discovered he was no longer attached to his dive flag.
The cause of death appears to have been accidental according to the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office, however officials are still investigating the incident.
