Mashpee Fire responded to a report of a car on fire early Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred near Lakeview Drive on Falmouth-Sandwich Road at approximately 1:40 a.m.
Rescuers arrived on scene and found the vehicle on its side; the driver was able to climb out before it caught on fire.
Officers remained on scene while crews extinguished the flames.
Mashpee Police are investigating the cause of the accident, although police say the operator may have fallen asleep before drifting off the road.
