An accident in Centerville Saturday morning shut down Old Stage Road for several hours.
The crash happened at approximately 8:15 a.m. when a vehicle ran into a utility pole.
Fire and rescue arrived on scene and discovered a transformer fell into the road and was blocking traffic.
The driver of the vehicle was evaluated at the scene and taken to Cape Cod Hospital with unknown injuries.
Eversource crews arrived to remove the transformer and repair the utility pole, during which time Old Stage Road was closed between Main Street and Old Post Road for an extended period of time.
Barnstable Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
