Enchanted Village Visitors; the Gift of Giving

Cape Codder Resort news release:

Hyannis, MA – Christmas is a time of giving, and visitors to the Cape Codder Resort’s Enchanted Village embraced that tradition this past December by placing 529 toys, numerous gift cards and non-perishable foods under the resort’s “Giving Tree” as part of the Cape Cod Enchanted Village holiday event.

Since hosting its very first Enchanted Village in 2002, the Cape Codder Resort & Spa has asked visitors to bring donations for its “Giving Tree” and each year these donations are given to clients from Independence House, Cape Cod’s leading resource, counseling and advocacy center to address and prevent domestic and sexual violence.

According to Donna Giberti, Director of Development and Marketing for Independence House, “This year the ‘Giving Tree’ provided 529 toys and additional gift cards to 243 women with children (an increase of 65 over last year), 42 teens in our Teen program, and 33 children in our Children Exposed to Domestic Violence and Child Sexual Violence Programs. We estimate the value of these donations at more than $8,000. We are grateful for this long-standing relationship between Independence House and the Cape Codder Resort. It means so much to these families and children to know they have support, and that our community cares.”

Bill Catania, President and CEO of the Catania Hospitality Group adds, “We’re happy to learn that the donations received from our seventeenth Enchanted Village could make the holidays a bit brighter for the mothers, teens and children in Independence House programs. We wish to thank our visitors for their generous donations to this Cape Cod organization that helps so many.”

The Cape Codder Resort & Spa is located at 1225 Iyannough Road, Hyannis. It is family owned and operated by the Catania Hospitality Group. For more information, visit Cape Cod Resort.
