BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — When Celtics star Jaylen Brown was 17, he tweeted, "My teacher said she'll look me up in the Cobb County jail in 5 years...Wow."

That tweet turned five Sunday, but Brown's not in jail. He's 22, in his third NBA postseason, and Vice President of the league's players association.

Somehow, the tweet surfaced over the weekend, so Brown was asked about it ahead of Tuesday's Game 2 of the conference semifinals in Milwaukee.

Brown said he'd leave the details in the past, where they belong, but said he's come a long way.

"It's a pretty cool moment, to be where I am now," he said. "Five years ago, who would've thought? Especially where I come from, a lot of people come from communities worse or better, everybody has aspirations and dreams to get to where they belong, and I'm happy I'm here."

Brown said he doesn't blame the teacher for saying what she did. Maybe she was overwhelmed by having 35 kids in class, but he's moved on and hopes kids take the good from his experience.

"If kids look at it the right way, in terms of somebody ever saying anything or try to put them down or shoot their dreams down, and it motivated them to get where they are? I salute that," he said.
