Eastham Resident Indicted In Lottery Fraud Scheme

A Eastham resident faces the possibility of a long prison term after being accused of taking part in a lottery scam.

Thirty-year-old Nicole Lamont was indicted in Pennsylvania on a single count of conspiracy to commit money laundering.

She and seven others are accused of being part of scheme that raked in more than four-and-a-half-million-dollars by calling older folks and telling them they won a seven-figure lottery prize but had to pay a tax or fee to claim it.

Prosecutors say the money paid by victims was funneled to three suspects living in Jamaica.
