Bird Flu Detected In Flock Of Chickens On Martha's Vineyard

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has confirmed bird flu in a flock of backyard chickens on Martha's Vineyard.

There were 50 chickens in the flock and while only four tested positive for the virus, all of the birds had to be euthanized.

The Health Department is not releasing the location of the flock.

Last month a flock of wild turkeys tested positive for bird flu in Edgartown.

In addition, the death of a blue jay in Edgartown was presumed to be linked to the bird flu.
