Barnstable Leaders Respond To Pause In Mental Health Center Closure

Barnstable County leaders are reacting to Governor Healey's decision to pause the planned closure of Pocasset Mental Health Center.

The Board of Regional Commissioners and Assembly of Delegates say they are encouraged by the Governor's commitment to engaging patients, families, labor representatives, local officials, and medical professionals to conduct a further review of the facility and its services.

Officials say while the pause is a positive step, they remain committed to advocating for sustainable, long-term solutions that ensure continued access to quality mental health care.
