A pair of grants totaling more than 300-grand are being used by the Town of Barnstable to help make some dangerous intersections safer.
Town leaders plan to use the cash to conduct safety audits for vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists at 14 busy intersections with an eye on reducing serious injuries or deaths.
The hope is to have a traffic engineer by the summer and have the audits done by June of 2027.
Most of the dangerous intersections are in Hyannis, including High School Road at South Street, West Main at Lincoln Road and Old Stage Road at Oak Street.
