The Massachusetts Republican Party is demanding the immediate resignation of Democratic State Representative Chris Flanagan amid a federal investigation into alleged criminal activity tied to his campaign.
MassGOP Chair Amy Carnevale says in a social media post that Flanagan's actions have shattered public trust and the people deserve better.
In a statement, Flanagan criticized the MassGOP for what he calls political mudslinging.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in Boston is investigating a complaint filed last year, alleging that more than 26-thousand-dollars went missing from the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Cape Cod while Flanagan was its executive officer.
