Eastham Officials Encourage Residents To Take Rabies Prevention Measures

The Town of Eastham is collaborating closely with the USDA and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health after a raccoon found dead near the Wild Care Wildlife Rehab Center tested positive for rabies this week.

The town says it's making sure that appropriate steps are taken to protect the health and safety of the community.

Officials are asking residents to take standard precautions by avoiding contact with wild animals, making sure their pets are up-to-date on rabies vaccinations and reporting any unusual animal behavior to Eastham Animal Control.
