Candidate Files Suit Over Signatures In Primary

A lawsuit over a Cape primary race is headed to court.

Former state Senate candidate Kari MacRae is expected in a Boston court today, regarding her motion for a preliminary injunction.

MacRae, who lost the Republican primary to Mathew Muratore, is suing election officials in Falmouth, Mashpee, Plymouth, Plympton, and Sandwich on the grounds they did not verify signatures on early ballots.

She seeks to block certification of election results while the suit moves forward.

Muratore, who was found to have won the primary by a slim margin, lost to Dylan Fernandes in the November 5th election.
