The Barnstable Superior Court has dismissed a lawsuit brought against Sheriff Donna Buckley by the Cape and Islands District Attorney's Office.
The DA had been seeking more than 20 years of officer disciplinary records. In a statement, the Sheriff says from the beginning, the DA's action has been a solution in search of a problem.
Buckley says the Sheriff's Office has never failed to honor the district attorney's request for case-specific information and remains fully committed to doing so.
The District Attorney's Office is reviewing the court's ruling.
