Triple E More Of A Concern In Region

Several communities on the Cape are sitting at moderate risk levels for West Nile Virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis.

That's prompting another reminder from health officials for residents to protect themselves against mosquitoes.

They say use repellents and wear long sleeves and pants at dusk and dawn when the insects are most active.

In addition, mosquito netting is recommended for baby carriages and playpens when small kids are outdoors.

Homeowners should also remove any standing water from around their properties.

Officials say Plymouth, Carver, and Middleborough are at a high risk for Triple E.

West Nile Virus more prevalent in Rochester and Mattapoisett.

Triple E has also been found in Provincetown.
