Galvin To Decide If Recount Is Needed In Barnstable GOP Primary

Tuesday's Republican primary for the Plymouth-Barnstable State Senate seat remains too close to call.

According to the unofficial results, State Representative Matthew Muratore leads Kari MacRae by only 50-votes and her campaign is said to be pursuing a hand recount, which could take weeks.

In a statement, Muratore says he's confident in his lead and he congratulated MacRae for a spirited campaign.

To move forward with a recount, MacRae must petition the clerks in each district municipality by Friday and Massachusetts Secretary of State Bill Galvin will determine if the race is close enough for a recount.
