Plymouth Fire, OSHA Investigate Fryer Accident

Plymouth Fire officials continue to investigate after three people, including an 11-month-old child, were hurt after a fryer shot up cooking oil at the Market Basket Thursday night.

Firefighters found cooking oil on the ceiling and grease stains as far as 15 feet away.

According to Plymouth Fire, “A 79-year-old male customer suffered severe burns and was transported by Brewster Ambulance to the Massachusetts General Hospital Sumner Redstone Burn Center. A 31-year-old male store employee and an 11-month-old child were transported by Brewster Ambulance to South Shore Hospital.”

OSHA and Plymouth Fire continue to investigate.
