State Auditor Uncovers Millions In Welfare Fraud

More than two-million-dollars in welfare benefits was stolen in the last quarter according to state investigators.

Massachusetts Auditor Diana Dizaglio said there were at least 241 cases of fraud between January and March.

About 80 percent of the theft was from food assistance and some from Medicaid and other programs.

Dizoglio said investigators are making government better by identifying fraud, waste and abuse of tax dollars.
