Eastham Town Meeting: Overrides For Police Staffing, Education

Eastham's May 4 Town Meeting will put the 2025 fiscal budget of more than 44-million-dollars before voters.

The operating budget, Article 2A, requires a Proposition 2 ½ override of more than one-million-dollars because of increases in the forecasted school budget, student enrollment and special education costs.

Around 600-thousand-dollars of that amount can be attributed to enrollment increases.

Article 2D calls for 300-thousand-dollars and another Proposition 2 ½ override to fund the hiring two additional police officers, marking the first police department staffing increase in 30 years.

The Town Meeting takes place at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Nauset Regional High School athletic field.
