Yarmouth Board Considers Future Sewer Projects

The Yarmouth Select Board took up concerns over the future of sewer projects, and the ongoing holdup.

Last April, voters at a town meeting approved a more than 207-million-dollar plan to begin the initial phase of the project.

Contracts for these projects along Route 28 cannot be assigned, however, as the Department of Environmental Protection wants more groundwater discharge sites.

A working group is meeting with DEP to resolve the issue, and state lawmakers are offering support.

The contracts must be awarded by June 30th.
