A new poll finds broad support for wind projects off the Massachusetts coast. Beacon Research conducted the poll for Vineyard Offshore and surveyed just over one thousand Bay State voters.
The poll found 42% "somewhat favor" projects such as Vineyard Wind 1, with 35% strongly in favor.
Only 14% express the offshore development. Figures further showed that 84% of Democrats, 71% of Independents, and 65% of Republicans were in support.
Officials with Vineyard Offshore are encouraged by the numbers, which they say show Massachusetts residents have embraced wind as a key source of energy.
Vineyard Wind 1 is set to operate at full capacity by the end of this year.
