An astronaut with Cape Cod ties recently went up to the International Space Station.
Loral O'Hara formerly worked as an engineer at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
Dennis McGillicuddy, a senior scientist at Woods Hole, says O'Hara is an incredibly-talented mechanical engineer.
She is scheduled to spend six months aboard the I-S-S.
Despite living at this end the state, O'Hara was actually born in Texas and among other things holds a private pilots license.
