Provincetown Wants Ban On Water From Spent Nuclear Fuel Rods Dumped In Bay

The Provincetown Selectboard will meet Monday night for its regularly scheduled meeting, where they are ready to approve a letter of support for a State Department of Environmental Protection decision to deny Holtec Corporation from amending its current permit in order to dump 1.1 million gallons of treated wastewater from the spent fuel rods into Cape Cod Bay.

Residents say its a matter of protecting the environment and securing the long term help of the public.

In addition, the Selectboard is expected to approve a letter to US Senator Elizabeth Warren that seeks additional federal funding for both the Sagamore and Bourne Bridges.
