A Barnstable District Court judge is clearing the way for Sandwich to continue with its boardwalk reconstruction project.
A temporary restraining order was issued last week after a complaint was filed by Sandwich Historic District Committee member Lisa Hassler and her husband, alleging the town violated the Old King's Highway Regional Historic District Act.
The judge ruled against an injunction, saying the town would likely prevail and the cost of delaying the project does not serve the public interest.
Hassler tells The enterprise her goal was never to stop the boardwalk, but she wanted to point out that the town did not follow the rules on the permitting process.
