Governor Maura Healey's administration is announcing nearly one-million dollars in federally-funded grant awards for projects that will improve water quality in the Buzzards Bay watershed.
One of the grants is going to the town of Bourne to hire an engineering firm to address the health of Queen Sewell Pond.
The state says the pond, which features a freshwater bathing beach, has been impaired by harmful algae blooms and elevated bacteria levels.
