That doctor who brought an unloaded rifle into Cape Cod Medical Center last week is on administrative leave.
The physician was employed by the parent company of Cape Cod Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital.
He is no longer allowed at either campus.
Brigham's Media Relations Manager, Mark Murphy, said the doctor had no intention to use the firearm.
Barnstable Police are still investigating.
