A lawsuit is being filed against a number of Massachusetts school districts, including the Sandwich district, by a group that opposes mask mandates for students.
The complaint filed in Superior Court by Children's Health Rights of Massachusetts argues neither the districts nor the state have the authority to mandate masks in schools.
A statewide mandate is set to expire on November 1st unless the Education Commissioner extends it.
