Eversource is working to fix an undersea cable feeding electricity to Martha’s Vineyard.
The MV Times reports the company informed the town of Edgartown about the situation on Friday after a brief power outage that was caused by the cable failure.
Over a dozen backup generators have been brought to the island to ensure the lights stay on for islanders while the repairs are being made, which Eversource says will take several weeks.
