Charges Dropped Against Man Accused Of Rape Aboard SSA Ferry

The Cape and Islands District Attorney's office is declining to press rape charges against an individual who was accused of committing the crime on a Steamship Authority vessel.

Twenty-year-old Bruno Sanches DeJesus of Boston was accused of raping an 18-year-old girl in his truck on the vehicle ferry earlier this month.

The D.A.'s office says it made the decision not to file charges after speaking with the girl and her family.

An attorney for DeJesus said the encounter was consensual.
