The Edgartown Yacht Club says it is set to go this year for the annual round the island race.
The race is a 52.5 mile course around Martha’s Vineyard that is usually completed by most sailors by late afternoon or the early evening, according to the club. If winds are not favorable to that time frame, officials can call the race at Menemsha, on the western side of the Vineyard.
The contest, which has been held every year since 1938 except for the years of WWII, will take place the weekend of July 24th.
