Fire Destroys Uninhabited House In Sandwich

A massive fire destroyed an uninhabited house in Sandwich overnight Saturday.

The three-alarm fire was at a home on Bourne Avenue.

The Sandwich Fire Department says the structure was known to be a "hoarding" house and was reportedly packed full of materials.

Fire Chief John Burke said the department had actually planned for a response to a future house fire at the address, and that firefighters did not enter because no one was inside.

The blaze is under investigation.
