65-Year-Olds Are Now Eligible For Coronavirus Vaccine

People over the age of 65 and those with two qualifying medical conditions became eligible for the coronavirus vaccine yesterday.

The expansion makes the vaccine available to over a million new people in Massachusetts.

Also becoming eligible for the vaccine yesterday were  employees of senior housing who were not qualified earlier.

Over 850 thousand people have received the first dose of the vaccine in the state.

Medical facilities on Cape Cod have been struggling to meet existing demand here; there has been no information coming from the state as to increasing dose availability on Cape Cod in light of the newly eligible vaccine candidates.
