The COVID-19 vaccine will be available for residents at the only nursing home on Martha's Vineyard in January.
The shots were initially expected at Windemere Nursing and Rehab Center by the end of this month, but Martha's Vineyard Hospital CEO Denise Schepici on Wednesday blamed the delay on the federal government's distribution plan.
A handful of staff members at the nursing home have tested positive for the virus, but residents have been spared so far.
Officials also said yesterday that over 200 staffers at MV Hospital have been inoculated.
