Restoration Happening For Nantucket Lightship

An old U.S. lightship that illuminated the dangerous Nantucket shoals, among other responsibilities over her career, is being restored. The Nantucket Lightship, officially designated LV-112, is a historic landmark which was in service between 1936 and 1983, first operated by the U.S. Lighthouse Service and then the Coast Guard. The former vessel-turned-museum has been moved from its docking site in East Boston to a shipyard in Chelsea.
