Fishing Vessel Murder Suspect Found Not Competent To Stand Trial

An update on the court case of a man accused of murdering a fellow crew member on a fishing vessel off Nantucket. Franklin Freddy Meave Vazquez allegedly attacked several crew members, including one fatally, aboard the Captain Billy Haver about fifty miles off the Island in 2018. The Cape Cod Times reports Vazquez was found not competent to stand trial earlier this year. The U.S. Attorney General's Office was ordered to send Vazquez to a treatment facility to determine if the case might be able to move forward.
