Officials at the Mashpee Wampanoag Indian Tribe say that they hope the people at the Barnstable High School reach out to them so they may bring some ideas for a new mascot for high school teams.
The school committee voted 3-2 this week to drop the Red Raider mascot because it was demeaning to the tribe and in the name of diversity.
No timetable when a new mascot will be on line.
