On a 3-2 vote, the Barnstable School Committee has voted to retire the current Red Raider Mascot.
A group of students and others had petitioned for the change in the name of diversity.
Although the committee voted to get rid of the mascot, they did not say what they would change the mascot to.
Barnstable High School has about 18 hundred students.
