We are seeing the first of the candidates come forward to run for Barnstable Select Board after the sudden resignation of Britt Beendenbender last week.
In a short weekend statement, Jeffrey Swartz says he is running.
He is a resident of Centerville, and says he is willing to listen to all sides of an issue to find consensus and is best qualified because of among other things his years of service of the Planning Board.
Officials haven't set a special election date but are hoping to do that in conjunction with the November 3rd election.
