Old Bass River Road Bridge Repair Deemed "Essential"

The pandemic will not stop the Department of Transportation from fixing the damage to the Old Bass River Road Bridge over Route Six.

It has been shut down since mid December. The repair project is a little more than a half million dollars.

It is considered an essential project to complete. It will take about two months.

The bridge was damaged when a trailer carrying a 75 foot crane hit the structure.

Crews will do night work as well in order to get the project done by Memorial Day.
