State Public Health Commissioner Dr Monica Bharell has been diagnosed with Covid 19. She was tested Thursday night and received her results on Friday.
The Doctor, in a statement, says that she will recuperate from home while continuing to work.
Meantime, in a statement from the Governor and Lt Governor, they wish her well and say neither of them will be tested for the virus.
The Doctor’s spokesman Ann Scales says that all of the Doctor’s close contacts have been notified and they do not include the Governor.
Dr Bharell has been out front on the issue since the crisis began and becomes the highest ranking person in state government to contract the virus.
