A special election is set for the Plymouth and Barnstable state Senate District later this month.
Susan Moran, a member of the Falmouth select board, came out of a five-candidate Democratic field on Super Tuesday, while James McMahon the Third, an attorney from Bourne, was the winner on the Republican side in a primary election.
The general election to finish the term of former state Senator Vinny deMacedo will be held March 31st.
