Liquor Licenses For Massachusetts Could Be On The Rise

The number of Liquor Licenses in this state could be going up dramatically.

The Consumer Protection Committee on Beacon Hill will consider a measure that would allow stores like Cumberland Farms to sell beer and wine. That's legal in some states.

The ballot initiative is being fronted by the people at Cumberland Farms. The Package Stores are opposed.

They say that would give them major control of the marketplace.

The Committee hears from both sides and the public this afternoon.
