Court Rules In Favor Of Marine Monument Construction Southeast Of Cape

A Federal Appeals Court Judge has ruled the Obama White House was well within its rights to create a Marine National Monument 130 miles Southeast of The Cape. 

Lobstermen sued saying that the property was not land under the Antiquities Act. The judge cited previous Supreme Court decisions.

Marine monuments and national marine sanctuaries are similar. Monuments are controlled by the President.

Sanctuaries are controlled by NOAA and Congress.
