County Commissioners May Be Abolished In Favor Of Assembly Of Delegates

County Government with a few exceptions in the Commonwealth was abolished in the late 1990’s. The Cape is an exception to that.

But there is a move afoot that seeks to abolish the County Commissioners and give their power to a strong Assembly of Delegates.

The Charter Review Committee is expected to meet a week from tomorrow and they are looking for public comments on the issue through mail or email.

They are hoping to have something ready for the November 2020 election ballot.
